Associated Writing Programs
(AWP) —
AWP is the professional organization of teachers and students
of creative writing in U.S. colleges and universities.
The organization publishes an informative newsletter, including
notices of grants, awards, writing conferences, and calls
for manuscripts. AWP members are eligible to receive a
periodical listing of teaching and writing job opportunities.
Poets & Writers — P&W
publishes a magazine of interest to working writers and writing
students. With the AWP newsletter (above), P&W magazine
comprises a reasonably thorough entry to many aspects of
the writing life.
PEN — Poets,
Editors, Novelists — the international, professional organization
of writers and editors, active in supporting freedom of speech
and related rights around the world.
The
Authors' Guild — Since 1912, an advocacy
